Well hello there.
It is the end of July 2019. We are (almost) 8 months in to the year.
This year (pretty much every year) has flown.
Last time I updated you all was right before my trip to NY.
So much has happened since.
To sum it up, NY was a dream. Confirmed: I love it there.
I want to move there.
I will be!
The date is very TBD but I’m determined to make it happen when all the pieces are in place and I look forward to setting a date hopefully soon.
Being back in Minneapolis has been very enjoyable but also very difficult. Once you’ve been in place that feels like home (your new home) it can be hard to return to the old home. The place that once made you feel how this new place does now.
I’ve been working, performing, auditioning since I’ve been back and (actively) going through the motions. Doing what I feel like I should be doing. What feels pretty good but also what feels “required”.
It ebbs and flows.
I am happy, don’t get me wrong. I’ve been hanging out with friends, going to yoga/climbing, and enjoying my jobs/projects but again, it doesn’t quite feel the same as it did before I left.
But! I will continue to make the most of it all. Because, honestly, I know moving with be exhilarating but also nerve wracking and intimidating. I will miss this place, this Minneapolis life, once I leave. So I’m going to soak it in and remind myself that this here is a great life too. NY will be there and when it’s time, I’ll make the jump.
But, Minneapolis, you sneak in moments that remind me why I’m here. Why I fell in love with this city. Walks home in the fresh summer air, seeing the skyline, and breathing in this city that has shown me so much.
